Introduce:-
Rangpur is a very ancient state. River Tista
is streaming in to the Rangpur.Districts
headquarters. It is famous for Tobacco
industry. Begum Rokey was born in this
District. It is not found anywhere for the
named of this districts. But local people
tell that the name Rangpur comes from the
name "RANGAPUR". Rangapur
originates from "RANGA" means joy,
and PUR means places that means joy full
places.
Boundary:
Lalmonirhat and river Tista to its North
part Gaibandha and Dinajpur districts to its
southern part. Gaibhandha, Kurigram and
Lalmonirhat districts to its eastern part
and Nilfamari district in the west Part.
Area: Total area of Rangpur District is 2320
square kilometer (Approximately).
